We are proud to announce our participation in Amnesty International's latest benefit CD Chimes Of Freedom: The Songs Of Bob Dylan. We chose Dylan's "The Ballad Of Hollis Brown," a dark story about a farmer and his family who falls on hard times after noticing its contemporary relevance with todays economic climate. The compilation commemorates the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International and honors their life-saving, human rights activism. Recorded with our friends at The Blasting Room (Bill Stevenson & Jason Livermore), we documented the process so stay tuned for a short webisode that looks behind the scenes as the song unfolded.
Rise Against joins a total of 80 artists including Bad Religion, Tom Morello, Flogging Molly, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello, Sting and more who contributed to the four disc collection that will be available 1/24/12 in both physical and digital form. The record will stream in it's entirety at the Amnesty International Facebook on 12/10 which is Human Rights Day (the day the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights was signed).
