Studio Diary Part Two

We arrived in Fort Collins and immediately got to work on the songs, and in fact, ending up writing a a whole bunch more of them in the first couple weeks. Bill and Jason helped coax the rock out us and, when we were't trying to cover Motorhead songs, we actually got a lot done. Once we finished the structure of songs, Brandon got to work on the drums while the rest of us entertained ourselves around town, which included a night of weirdness with our good buddy Magic Cyclops over at the Surfside, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Wilhelm Scream even rolled through town on their recent tour and we were all able to take a minute out of our schedules to enjoy a BBQ over at Bill's house, at which point many trampoline antics ensued (see the pics to your right for the Zach and Tim's patent double back-flip ).

Guitars and bass started shortly after, and so far are going great. They sound bigger and better than anything we've done yet and everyone has been really impressed. We're experimenting with a lot of sounds and attempting to tastefully implement them in our songs, so far, so good...

We took the weekend off to play the Weenie Roast with Metallica, Offspring and our friends in Bad Religion, Pennywise and Flogging Molly. The show was incredible, definitely the best radio show we've ever been a part of, thanks to our fans who made the trip...

KFC Canada Victory!

KFC Canada Victory!

Following a five-year campaign by PETA as well as Rise Against fans everywhere, KFC Canada is promising improved welfare for the chickens it buys for its fast-food outlets in exchange for an end to a boycott campaign that will continue in the U.S. and elsewhere. KFC Canads also plans on introducing a vegan "chicken" item on it's menu, which will be many customers first introduction to a meat-free lifestyle.

-----

PETA has asked us to thank RA fans directly, saying; "you guys and your fans have been an essential part of this effort with speaking out against KFC in videos, letting us do the petitions at shows, and so much more."

Remember, while the Kentucky Fried Cruelty campaign is done in Canada, it’s still going stronger than ever everywhere else around the world and we need people to help ! Canada has set a precedent, and this victory proves what can be done here in America and abroad.
