West Memphis Three Released After 18 Years

West Memphis Three Released After 18 Years

If you wore black t-shirts, ripped-up jeans, or had long hair and listened to metal/punk music in the 90s, sometimes you got harassed. And sometimes you got put away for 18 years on false murder charges.

It's time to Rethink Afghanistan

America has dealt with the world's number one terrorist, and yet our troops are still in Afghanistan and our wallets are still being drained. It's time to RETHINK AFGHANISTAN . How much did you pay for war this year ? Click here to find out.

Rolling Stone Exposes Murder In Afghanistan

Rolling Stone Exposes Murder In Afghanistan

Rise Against's song " Hero Of War " was inspired by tragic and unethical events happening in Iraq at the hands of wayward soldiers. Unfortunately, these events are continuing to unfold and have spread to Afghanistan. The message behind "Hero Of War" has unfortunately become just as important now as it was then. Saddened but emboldened by reports like this, we continue to draw attention to this grave problem in the American military and our presence in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Madison Protests Succeed in Energizing Working People Nationwide

As more and more Americans wake up to what the battle in WI is really about, and as we learn about the billionaires and wealthy elites behind the legislation that started it, the sleeping giant of the working people is waking up to say "We've had it."

SEA SHEPARD VICTORY !

SEA SHEPARD VICTORY !

Activism and perseverance pays off. It’s official – the Japanese whaling fleet has called it quits in the Southern Ocean, at least for this season. And if they return next season, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will be ready to resume their efforts to obstruct and disable illegal Japanese whaling operations. Click here for the whole story

“The Nisshin Maru made a significant course change immediately after the Japanese government made it official that the whaling fleet has been recalled,” said Captain Alex Cornelissen from the Bob Barker. “She looks like she’s going home!”

The killing of whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary is over for this season and the whalers did not even take 10% of their quota. Sea Shepherd estimates that over 900 whales have been saved this year.

RALLY IN WISCONSIN FOR WORKERS RIGHTS

Thanks to everyone who came to Madison and everyone who is either there right now and on their way ! Click here for a link of Tim playing at the Capital

What's happening in Madison ?

Using budget repair as a cover, Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin is attacking worker's rights.  Public employees have already agreed to Gov. Walker's pension and health care concessions (which he said will solve the budget challenge). But the governor will not budge until he has collective bargaining. Madison is our Cairo.

So what is collective bargaining ? I first saw the term when Rise Against was investigating where our merchandise comes from, and in order to determine whether it was coming from sweatshops, we needed to define sweatshop first.  The term that kept popping up in our research was "collective bargaining." It is essentially your right as a worker to voice your opinion on everything from unfair labor practices to unsafe working conditions. It is one of the key elements that differentiate the American workplace from sweatshops in developing countries. Now that key element is under attack.

Working class American did not cause this economic crisis, but this agenda uses them as a scapegoat. This issue in WI is a domino that can fall one way or the other. Let's push it towards progress. We need laws that protect middle class rights, not ones that take them away. If you can't make it to Madison, check out solidarity rallies in your city. This agenda is already on a the to-do list of many states, stop it here before it spreads.

What the hell is going on in WISCONSIN ?

The Labor Movement, working class people like teachers and nurses, is under attack. Details here
